Find a state-licensed plumber in California
Burst pipe, leaking water heater, backed-up drain? Here are the plumbing contractors the state lists as holding a plumbing license, by county and city, with a phone number and license number so you can check before you hire.
Choose your countyThe problem this solves
When water is leaking you need a plumber fast, and search results are mostly ads and lead-selling sites. In California, plumbing contractors are licensed by the state's Contractors State License Board under the C-36 Plumbing classification. The state publishes the list of licensed contractors, but it is a very large file most people will never open.
This directory puts the plumbing part of that list in a form you can use: pick your county or city, tap to call, then ask for the license number and compare it with the one shown here.
How to use it
- Find plumbers near you. Pick your county below or search by city or company name.
- Call. Phone numbers are tap-to-call.
- Check the license. Ask for their CSLB license number and compare it with the number listed. How to check a license.
12896 plumbing licenses from the CSLB file downloaded November 4, 2026. Only licenses with a phone number are listed. A listing is not an endorsement.
