How to check a California plumber's license

1. Ask the contractor for their CSLB license number.
2. Look it up on the CSLB license check. Confirm the status is active and that the C-36 Plumbing classification is listed.
3. Compare the business name and number with what you were given.
4. Contact the CSLB if anything does not match.

The CSLB says license status can change at any time and that its data file is current only as of the file date.
